Finding your vehicle's connector is easy. Simply provide us your vehicle's year, make and model. The diagram below shows the nine standard connector locations, which may vary by vehicle year, make and model. All are conveniently located inside the comfort and safety of your vehicle’s passenger compartment.
Vehicle Not Listed? – Please note that the above search function may not include all 2009, 2010, and newer model years. This does not mean that CarMD will not work on these vehicles. CarMD was designed to work on vehicles with an OBD II system – all vehicles sold in the US that were manufactured since 1996 to today are required by law to have this system. In fact, CarMD already complies with the new government 2010MY SAE standards, which are not required until 2010. We apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured that we are in the process to update our database to include the locations and images for these years. For the moment, we recommend that you check with your vehicle’s service manual or contact your local dealership to request your vehicle’s DLC (Data Link Connector) location.
Covered – Some manufacturers (e.g. Ford, BMW, Mercedes) cover the connector with a small rubber cover or plastic hinged door. Take off the cover before connecting the CarMD device.
Upside Down – On some vehicles, the port is upside down. When you plug CarMD into your port, you may not be able to easily see the tool’s screen. Don’t worry. All you have to do is listen for the beeps.
Won’t Fit? – CarMD is designed to work on all 1996 and newer OBD2-compliant cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans manufactured for use in the United States. Select makes and models are known to be built out of the government-mandated SAE J1962 specification and may require the purchase of a special extension cable adapter (click here).
